Cellist and educator Richard Aaron is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest living instrumental teachers in America. He is Professor of Cello at the Juilliard School, the University of Michigan and at the Aspen Festival. He counts among his former students legions of the finest solo, chamber and orchestral cellists working professionally today.
For this absolutely one-of-a-kind musical experience, Mr. Aaron will bring a large group of his current students to the Capital Region for an in-depth, week-long exploration of the cello and its repertoire. Events include group recitals, master classes, and a community-wide mass cello event. The week's activities will culminate in concerts featuring Mr. Aaron's remarkable students as soloists. The concert features works new and old for cello. Don’t' miss this absolutely unique journey into the heart and soul of that most soulful of all the instruments of the orchestra, the cello.
