1st Saturday for Families: A Musical Morning with the Albany Symphony Orchestra
[For ages 0-10 and their caregivers.]
Spend a musical morning with the Albany Symphony Orchestra! After a fun music-themed storytime, kids will get the chance to check out the Albany Symphony Instrument Petting Zoo! What's an instrument petting zoo? It's when Albany Symphony Orchestra educators invite children and their caregivers to try out the instruments of the orchestra! Bow a violin or a cello, pucker up to a trumpet, toot a trombone, clack a castanet, set your embouchure for flute, and more! Volunteers guide individuals in the basics of making sounds with each instrument, teach beginner techniques, and, yes, sanitize the instruments between each use. This program was made possible with musical instruments from John Keal Music and Vanguard-ASO, the dedicated volunteers for the Albany Symphony Orchestra.
