André Raphel, Guest Conductor

Midori, violin

The concert

There is a reason Midori is a household name. Known for her "breathtaking" intensity and grace, she joins us to perform a concerto written by Beethoven at the peak of his powers. Plus, you’ll experience Shostakovich’s gripping, intense Symphony No. 10 – a cinematic journey that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The concert opens with a work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon.

The Program

Jennifer Higdon: TenFold

Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Concerto

Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony No. 10

The experience

Step into the historic Palace Theatre, leave the world behind for a few hours, and reconnect with something bigger. You don’t need a music degree to love this concert. This is music about the human experience - exciting, urgent, and absolutely unforgettable.

Arrive early to hear a pre-concert talk with guest conductor André Raphel at 6:30pm.
