jackson Riffle, Principal Percussion
Jackson Riffle is a performer, educator, composer, and arranger, originally from Pleasant Hill, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Music with concentrations in Piano and Percussion Performance from Wright State University under the mentorship of Mr. Gerald Noble and Dr. Jackson Leung, his Master of Music from the University of Georgia under the guidance of Mr. Tim Adams, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Georgia. An active performer, Jackson serves as Principal Percussionist of the Albany Symphony (NY) and Principal Timpanist of the DeKalb Symphony (GA), in addition to making regular appearances with the Atlanta Symphony (GA), Charleston Symphony (SC), Huntsville Symphony (AL), Greenville Symphony (SC), Baton Rouge Symphony (LA), and Augusta Symphony (GA).
As an educator, Jackson has worked as a music clinician for numerous high school programs and has taught courses, lessons, ensembles, and masterclasses at the collegiate level. As a composer and arranger, he is a staff member of Fannin Musical Productions and a published composer with Tapspace Publishing Company, C. Alan Publications, Bachovich Music Publications, and Cimarron Music Press. He has also received various commissions from professional and collegiate organizations and writes regularly for schools and marching bands across the United States.
